Free Lip Balm Cozy Knitting Pattern Using Reclaimed Sari Ribbon – Darn Good Yarn
February 26, 2013
Don’t you hate it when your lips get chapped and you accidentally washed your tube of lip balm? With this quick, free knitting pattern and 2 colors of Darn Good Yarn’s 5 yards of reclaimed sari ribbon, you’ll never have a lip balm accident again! And what’s better, you can hang it around your neck and look fabulous too!
Here’s what you need:
1. Size US 10 dpn (double pointed needles)
CO 6 stitches and distribute evenly across 3 needles. Join for knitting in the round, being careful not to twist the stitches
Work in the round for 3.75 inches. I did a plain stockinette stitch, but you could do a 1×1 rib if you’d like.
BO and sew one opening closed (You can do this by running the tail through the live stitches and pulling them tight–it’s like making a mini hat!)
Sew on a necklace length of ribbon to either side of the cozy.
Embellish as desired. If you want to add a tassel like I did, you can check out my Make a Tassel Already! pattern post.
